Rhys Ifans back in Ruthin after split from Sienna Miller

Rhys Ifans

RUTHIN has gone a little Notting Hill this week after Welsh film favourite Rhys Ifans decided to seek refuge in the town following his much-publicised breakup earlier this year.

Ifans, has headed to the town - where his parents live - after intense media attention following his split with British actress Sienna Miller.

"We’re sad to hear about what’s happened to him but we’re glad he’s decided to come back and spend some time with his friends and family in the Vale of Clwyd before he goes back to his acting," said Ruthin councillor Morfudd Jones.

Rhys, originally from Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, is perhaps best known for his breakout role as Spike in 1999’s Notting Hill alongside Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts.

However, he has also starred in music videos for Oasis, Catatonia and the Super Furry Animals, and in 1990 made his name presenting anarchic children’s quiz show Sdwnsh (Mash) on S4C.
