NORTH WALES LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
RHEWL continued their impressive start to the season with a 23-run victory over Llangollen.
Invited to bat, the Vale villagers declared on 149 for nine off 42 overs, Duane Partelow 38, Will Jones 29, Jon Eccles 28 and Chris Campbell 26,
while for the hosts Gareth Ridgeon took six for 53.
Ridgeon blasted his way to 45 in Llan’s reply, but when he was trapped lbw by Rob Eccles it was the beginning of the end and the home side
finished 126 all out.
Eccles took four for 16 and Campbell two for 37 while Si Williams came back towards the end of the innings to finish off the tail and Jon Eccles
took two stunning catches.
RUTHIN (7) 157-6 BERSHAM (3) 156 DIVISION TWO
AGAINST the odds, bottom side Ruthin produced their best result of the season at the expense of high- flying Bersham.
Electing to field first, the Vale side bowled out a formidable batting line up for 156, Llyr Williams grabbing four for 31, Owen Hughes three
for 41 and Jamie Hulse two for 42.
In reply, the hosts lost Rhys Hughes first ball, but a fine knock from 17-year-old Gwern Owen-Llwyd (45) and a solid 42 by Stephen Bryan-Jones helped Ruthin to 157 for six with eight balls to spare.
Alun Jones posted 27 and Joe Lewis 21 in a fine batting effort which secured a 7-3 success.

DENBIGH 195-8 dec NORTHOP 196-2 DIVISION ONE
A COMMANDING 59 from Australian James Hobbs helped Denbigh set a decent total but Northop batted even better to scoop an eight- wicket verdict.
Put in by the visitors, the Vale side set 195 for eight off 45 overs, Stuart Griffiths (35) and Gerallt Lyall (21) adding useful knocks while
for Northop Gareth Thomas nabbed three for 32.
The Flintshiremen then coasted to 196 for two off 39 overs.

DIVISION ONE
SUFFERING Corwen were hit by a run blitz at Holyhead Road.
Chirk piled up a mammoth 358 for six declared, Sean Walker 149 and Nick Flack 147 not out, while the pick of the away bowlers was Will Roberts with two for 38.
Corwen were blown away for just 82, Josh Maynard 22 and Matthew Duckworth 18, Flack completing a remarkable match with six for 12.
BALA (4) 188 DENBIGH 2NDS (6) 208-3 DIVISION THREE
IT was another tight finish for Denbigh 2nds at Castle Park as they claimed a third win in a row.
Dafydd Lewis cracked 76 off 75 balls – 12 fours and two sixes – and boosted his average to a remarkable 221 as the visitors chalked up 208 for
three, skipper David Roberts adding 33 not out.
Richard Harding then took five for 26 as Bala were restricted to 188.
