DESPITE encouraging half centuries from Daniel Nixon and skipper David Roberts, Denbigh crashed to a seven-wicket defeat against the Steelmen.

Opting for first knock, the Vale side posted 183 for four, Nixon (67) and Roberts (50 not out) putting on 92 for the fourth wicket.

Shotton replied with 189 for three, reaching their target with three overs to spare, Rana Das two for 33 for the visitors.
