Rugby Union: Ruthin aim to claim Llangoed Sevens

SCOTTISH Power North Wales Cup winners Ruthin will look to add more silverware to their trophy cabinet when they compete in the annual Llangoed International Sevens rugby union tournament on Anglesey this Saturday.

Clubs from all over the world will feature in the unique event with matches running from 9.40am to 6pm. All games are seven minutes each way with a one-minute interval.

Ironically, Ruthin are in the same group as Colwyn Bay, whom they beat 22-18 in the North Wales Cup final last month.

Also in the Vale of Clwyd club’s pool are Wharfedale, Knutsford and Bethesda.

Teams are split into four groups – A, B, C and D – with half the matches taking place on the village field and the others on the rugby field.
