Football: Increase in violent offences in Summer League

CONCERN has been expressed over the rise in violent conduct offences at Llandyrnog and District Village Clubs Summer League matches this season.

Last week’s executive committee meeting heard how numerous players are serving bans for failing to keep their tempers under control.

A five-match suspension was imposed on Llangynhafal’s Sam Crompton after he received four red cards at a game on June 16. The committee also singled out the poor disciplinary record of Llanrhaeadr’s Miles Todd and stated any further offences will definitely result in further bans.

"The executive committee are concerned at the number of cases of violent conduct in Summer League this season and request that managers warn players that any future indiscretions will be harshly dealt with," said a statement following the meeting.
